Mission:

The Patriot Guard will stand tall and silent at DFW National Cemetery to honor this WWII hero. We will escort from the Information Building to shelter A for the interment.

Obituary:

Wayne LeeWayne Lee, 86, joined his beloved wife, Mildred, in heaven Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, after a battle with cancer and lung failure. Service: 7 a.m. Monday at Webb Baptist Church, 6600 New York Ave. South, Arlington. Interment: 9 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society . Wayne was born June 9, 1924, in Como. He was a World War II vet and was married 65 years to his childhood sweetheart, Mildred. Together they both worked at LTV and raised two children, Judy and Michael, moving to Grand Prairie in the early 1950s, then later moving to the small community of Webb. They became active in the local community center, Webb Baptist Church, Webb Lodge #1454, joined the Arlington Saddle Club, playing Western Polo and winning awards, and worked on clearing the area for Joe Pool Lake. After retiring, but not one to sit back and relax, Wayne had several generations of farming in his blood and became a full-time cattleman and farmer, growing vegetables just to give away to friends and family. Survivors: Children, Judy Sommers (William) of Itasca and Michael Lee (Joyce) of Arlington; grandchildren, Ginger Sommer (Bryan) of Illinois, Brandy Curtis (Bill) of Woodstock, Ill., Nicole Bernard (Robert) of Island Lake, Ill., Sarah Wright (Benjamin) of Naperville, Ill., Robin Garcia (Raul) of Arlington, Krystal Hamilton (Dudley) of Mansfield, Johnny Shutter of Arlington and Crystal Grizzle of Arlington; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Details Of Part 1:

This will be an interment service only at DFW National Cemetery on Sept. 6, 2010 at 0900 hours. Upon arrival at DFW National Cemetery, big flag bikes will stage in lane A at the Information Center where we will wait for the funeral procession to arrive. All other bikes and cages go to shelter A, set the flag line and prepare for the service.

- Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.


- Safety First: With warmer weather, please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.


- Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family.


-We will park along the main street close to the designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.

Let's always remember to keep the motorcycle and voice noise to a minimum when arriving and leaving the shelters.

Because this is an interment only, please feel free to bring cages but large flag bikes are needed for the escort to the shelter.

Be mindful of the 15 mph speed and please keep noise to a minimum.
